Scene
They are sitting on her bed in her bedroom in her parent's house. He is hunched over on her lap, nearly crying into his hands. She is gently rubbing his back. He sniffles.
He: Just give me a hug and tell me you love me.
She coos and begins to straighten him up to hug him.
He: ...and that the past isn't a construct of the present.
She laughs.
She: You know I can't tell you that.
She smiles.
He: I know, I's just checkin'.
He smiles.
